Homemade applesauce is one of my favorite things to make and eat!  You can make this at home ahead of time and bring in your RV with you, or you can make it on the stove top, on a grill, in a crockpot, or in your dutch oven.

Homemade Applesauce
Ingredients:
5 pound bag of gala or other baking apples
2 Granny Smith apples
Honey
Spices (cinnamon, cloves, ginger or an apple pie or pumpkin pie spice mix)
Directions:
  • Fill a large saucepot with about 1/2 inch of water.
  • Peel the apples, cut off of the cores and cut into large chunks.  Put apple chunks in pan of water.
  • Heat apples to a boil and then lower heat to a low simmer, stir frequently.  After the apples are tender and starting to fall apart, use a potato masher to lightly mash them. (I like mine lumpy, but you could blend until smooth if you prefer)
  • Add honey and spices to taste.
  •  Let cool and enjoy!
